I would disagree. The hawks are hyping TT plenty They post the links to their prospects being rated, and how many times are we going to hear about him adding weight this summer and "living in the gym"?

In the end I really don't care. If TT pans out, fantastic. Lets hope he does because the hawks will desperately need prospects to continue to develop, and add QUALITY depth to what will be a front loaded roster.

The time to trade Sharp was at the draft...before free agency started and you had a sellers market. Now.....there are few teams who can absorb his cap hit, and the package Bowman could receive is quite less now then what it was 2 months ago. Ride it out this year, give your team the best chance to WIN, and address next year in the summer.

Hopefully, in the next 4 weeks they will resolve this pending cap situation so everyone can move on.

I want to say the 1994 or 95 top 6 was pretty damn good with Roenick and Amonte followed by Nicholls and Murphy.

I can't agree more. TT needs a year in Rockford no doubt.

I just don't see what the rush is. It's not like he's replacing Ulf Dahlen.

Totally agree with you on this one JJ. Long term he will be a better player if they take their time developing him and risk damaging him if he is not ready. Whenever I see a top prospect rushed I have visions of Doug Wickenheiser and more recently Gilbert Brule. When TT is ready he will make an immediate impact.

Believe you are correct in that Sharp isn't going anywhere (sorry Ogi), curious though what you think they'll do to get under the cap.

Is there a mystery injury or Rockford shuffle that will allow them to get under the cap?

Lots of speculation, just curious what you think or hear.

Very quiet. I think Leddy gets moved. But we'll see.

Leddy makes the most sense. will bring a decent return and i think can be replaced from within.

1) Lower salaried, solid NHL player OR projectable prospect with upside
AND
2) 2nd round pick

Something like that

Dunno if he can be "replaced" per se. I don't know who takes his PP minutes. Richards?
I think it would mean Dahlbeck gets a shot at #6. Hawks and other teams' scouts are high on him. Not going to be a great player, but a very solid NHL player by the looks of things.

It must require an insane amount of patience to be a good GM, especially with the amount of pressure from fans, bloggers, and other media. Hopefully Stan does what's best for TT and what's best for the team.

Dahlback was pimped by the Hawks wGN radio guy immediately following game 7 loss to the Kings.

I think he has the lead on Cleddenning or any other Rockford D man before they step on the ice. Will he keep it? Who knows, but his low cap hit are favorable as well.

Oh, they will in this case. I would argue there's a HUGE marketing benefit to having him light it up in Rockford for a year or so. Further, he needs some NA experience but not in the cauldron of the 2014-15 Hawks.

I think the org. is serious about getting back to the Cup Finals this year therefore no "learning on the job" to satisfy the Great Unwashed

I heard from a kid that skates with him frequently that TT knows he will likely be in Rockford all year. The Hawks haven't crowned him yet.

A lot like Hjalmarsson, but maybe more 2-way. The other guy getting some good ink is Dahlstrom (2nd rounder last year). Also Hjalmarsson-like in terms of style of play. Though he's at least a couple of years off.

Dahlbeck is the most finished product in the pipeline as far as D, if not any position right now. The other guy I think you could see (some) this year is McNeill. And of course Morin.

Nice blog JJ.

I made a case for people to get to know Rundblad before writing him off as well.

Check out the vids in my latest. The guy used to have serious offensive skill and an incredible shot. Would look pretty damn good on the PP if that was revitalized a bit with playing time in Chicago.

I know its one play and you can hardly blame the series loss on him

But get him out of town for that deflection!

like they say, if youre not going to block the shot, get the F out of the way!

Good point TC, and I suspect they grabbed Rundblad in that deal as a possible point solution on the power play. Let's face it, they've been "experimenting" there since (at least) since Campbell and Buff left town.

Thing is, WHY is this the kid's 4th organization by age 21?

Tough to blame that one on him, except he had that same deer in the headlights look he always has around the net.

I hear ya. I'm not sure. There has been 0 negative press on him as having a bad character or any demons that follow him from team-to-team. Well, other than the link posted in there about him being p*ssed about lack of playing time but can ya blame him?

He appears to be a decent guy and have a solid work ethic. This is a very pivotal year for his NHL career.

This blog post feels like a complete strawman. Create a point to argue against - "Teravainen should be playing a significant role from puck drop in October" - and then rail against it. All without providing any links/evidence of people actually saying that.

Im not a big leddy fan to begin with, but there is also the issue of Leddy needing a new contract, likely with a raise, in a years time

really no reason to hold on to him in my opinion

Yea, hes young and all, but A) we cant afford him B) im sure we dont WANT to pay him what he will want or need, because you dont want to pay him 3.5+ to be a third pair guy, and i know 95% of hawks fans arent comfortable with him being in the top 4 anytime soon
